book out book out

just as auggie expressed, each book out never fails to be a rush of relief and joy. from the march from coy line to TFT, till the bus ride that brings us to pasir ris, comes a flood of knowledge that comfort is near. my bed, my room, my home. a warm shower, and more than 7 hours of sleep awaits. the catching up with friends, the privilege of freedom that a civilian enjoys, that an NSF is denied for 5 days of each week. wow.

anyway. its been almost 7 weeks of training. and we’ve survived so far. about 2 more weeks to POP. really can’t wait. one of the little things that keep me going down in that sunny island ‘resort’ has to be the night sky. i think i’ve said this before, but its almost like the one in kunming, save for the orange lights around the buildings. the moon usually shines brightly, penetrating the darkness, and the sky is illuminated by specks of twinkling stars all around. that alone brings a smile to my face, especially during field camp. i remember digging under the moonlight drenched in perspiration, and  this might sound silly but although it was an arduous task, it was as though the moon was giving encouragement. haha. and I thank God for His marvellous handiwork in the sky.
